We are very fortunate to have a number of excellent restaurants nearby, All these Restaurants get very busy in season, so advance booking is essential.

BEAUFORT: ( 3 minutes away)

The Beaufort Bar: (064 6644032) Established in 1840 and reputedly serves the best pint of Guinness in Kerry. They opened a restaurant in 1999 which has proved extremely popular . It offers an excellent selection of local dishes including beef, lamb and fish and vegetarian options. It usually has two sittings at seven and nine during busy times

Kate Kearney's Cottage:(064 6644146 ) A small friendly family run restaurant at the mouth of the Gap of Dunloe. Kate Kearney was a legendary beauty who a 150 years ago served poteen - illegally brewed from potatoes - to visitors to the Gap.
FOSSA: ( 10 minutes away)

Aghadoe Heights (064 6631766) We do not usually recommend hotel restaurants but this is exceptional. Situated in a modern hotel beside the ancient monastic ruins at Aghadoe, between Beaufort and Killarney, the restaurant has a panoramic view of the Lakes and of McGillycuddy's Reeks. The food is of a very high standard and correspondingly priced but for a special occasion it is ideal.

Hotel Europe (064 6671300) The Hotel Europe offers a bistro, open seven days a week serving excellent food. Spectacular views of the lake with outside seating in fine weather.

KILLARNEY: ( 15 minutes away)

CucinaItaliana: (064 6626575) A sophisticated Italian restaurant offering very good modern Italian cooking.Bookings essential.( Situated in an alleyway opposite the cinema )
Bricin: Excellent food - including traditional Irish Boxty - and friendly service. Closed Sunday (064 6634902)
Gaby's: (064 6632519) is an internationally renowned fish restaurant.
Robertino's Restaurant: (064 6634966) - An Italian Restaurant serving Pizza, Pasta and Chips! - Excellent for families.
Genting Thai: (064 6637000) A superb Thai restaurant, new to Killarney, offering excellent duck and seafood dishes and a family friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Lord Kenmares: (064 6637245) Offers a delicious modern take on traditional dishes.

KILLORGLIN: ( 15 minutes away)

Sol y Sombra: (066 97 62347) Located in an old church this is a terrific Spanish themed tapas restaurant and wine bar and ideal for light dining.

Nick's: (066 9761219) is a steak and seafood restaurant. It does two sittings, at 7pm and 9pm and service, particularly on the second sitting can be slow.

Bianconi: (066 9761146) is a very good pub restaurant.

Jacks: (066 97 69102) A very good restaurant in Cromane specialising in local seafood with a pub attached that sometimes has traditional Irish music sessions.

KENMARE: ( 60 minutes away)

Sheen Falls: (064 6641600) Michelin starred restaurant in the Park Hotel (064 6641200). Reliably good are Packies (064 6641508) Mulcahy's (064 6642383) and the Lime Tree (+353 64 6641225)

DINGLE:( 60 minutes away )

DINGLE has excellent restaurants – Out of the Blue (066 915 0811) a small fish shop on the waterfront with a casual but excellent restaurant in the back is wonderful(closed all winter) and Doyle's (066 9151174) The Half Door (066 9151600) and the Charthouse are all highly recommended.

About Churchtown House

The house was built in 1740 by Sir Roland Blennerhassett and has been in the Magill family since 1860. This luxury self catering accommodation sleeps 12-14 in 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and has been refurbished to a very high specification throughout. Cooks and pre-prepared food can be arranged on request.

Churchtown house also caters for private Functions, Weddings, Civil Wedding Ceremonies and exclusive Celtic Castle tours along the Wild Atlantic Way.
